Amin Zarandi 5 out of 5 stars★★★★★I had a fantastic stay at The Hotel at the University of Maryland. The entire experience—from check-in to check-out—was smooth and professional. The staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and always ready to help, which really elevated the stay. The rooms were clean, modern, and very comfortable, and the overall atmosphere of the hotel felt upscale and well-maintained. While it is a bit pricier than other hotels in the area, it is absolutely worth it if you want to experience a high-quality hotel with top-notch service. One thing I really appreciated was the later checkout time. Their checkout is at 12 PM, unlike many hotels that require you to leave at 10 or 11 AM, which made the stay much more relaxed and enjoyable. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again.

Ogundu Onyekaba 5 out of 5 stars★★★★★I’ve stayed at many hotels for business travel over the years, but The Hotel at The University of Maryland in College Park has genuinely set a new standard for what a hotel stay should feel like. From the moment I arrived, I knew this place was different — and in all the best ways. What makes this hotel so special is its rare ability to blend multiple atmospheres seamlessly into one. It has the intimate, personalized charm of a boutique hotel, the polished functionality of a top-tier conference destination, and the sleek, contemporary feel of a modern luxury property. It doesn’t feel like a cookie-cutter chain — it feels curated and intentional, which is a refreshing change for business travel. The rooms are immaculate. Cleanliness is something I notice immediately, and this hotel passed with flying colors. Everything felt fresh, well-maintained, and thoughtfully appointed. It’s the kind of clean that tells you the staff genuinely takes pride in the property. Speaking of staff — the entire team is warm, attentive, and genuinely helpful. But I have to give a very special shoutout to Tatiana Kidwell, who absolutely went above and beyond during my booking process. She was incredibly accommodating, detail-oriented, and made the whole experience effortless. Her level of service is the kind that earns loyalty — and it worked, because this hotel is now my go-to whenever I’m in the College Park area for business. The location at 7777 Baltimore Ave is also convenient, offering easy access to the University of Maryland campus and the broader DC metro region. If you’re traveling for business — or even pleasure — and want a hotel that checks every box without sacrificing character, look no further. The Hotel at UMD is the full package. Highly, highly recommended.

Scott Vining 5 out of 5 stars★★★★★Our stay at The Hotel at the University of Maryland was overall a very positive experience. The location is hard to beat—being directly across the street from University of Maryland makes it incredibly convenient for walking to campus, events, restaurants, and getting in and out with ease. The hotel itself is beautiful inside. The modern décor gives the entire property a very polished and visually impressive feel. There are several great restaurants and bars on site, which made it easy to relax and enjoy the evening without having to leave the building. The staff throughout the hotel were friendly and welcoming, which always adds to the experience. Our room was comfortable and nicely appointed. The only hiccup we encountered was that the bedding for the pullout couch was not in the room when we arrived. We had to call down to request it, but to their credit, the staff took care of it quickly. Overall, the hotel is a stunning, modern property in a fantastic location. Aside from that small oversight with the bedding, it was a very enjoyable stay and a great place to stay when visiting the university.

Matthew Salzano 3 out of 5 stars★★★☆☆If you’re planning to spend in this price range in college park and want to be near campus, I’d recommend the Marriott instead. The Hotel has a lovely view and is closer to all the restaurants and shopping of college park, and the rooms are nicely furnished. However, our experience was that these are all nice things that cover up for lackluster fundamentals. The bed was uncomfortable, the high-tech lighting had gone out of date and was basically unusable — including engineering having to come to our room to cut a wire to a light because it wouldn’t shut off at all — and the TV has no channels. In the end, it was an acceptable stay with some annoyances; if you’re just there for a night and want the campus view or easy access to downtown college park, it works fine. But I’ll likely return to the Marriott instead of here.
