Randle Reed 5 out of 5 stars★★★★★First time in College Park for work and I was on the hunt for a cozy pub where I could settle in and enjoy a comforting meal. Looney’s Pub definitely delivered on the vibe. From the moment I sat down at the bar, the energy was welcoming. My bartender was fantastic—super kind, attentive without hovering, and had a great personality that made it easy to relax. Also, who knew you could get a bucket of Orange Crush? That alone felt very on-brand for College Park. Quick tip for first-timers: parking can be a little stressful. Skip following the “meter this way” signs and just look for the QR code near your spot. You’ll need your plate number, so stay close to your car if you’re in a rental like I was. Once you figure that out, paying on your phone is easy. I happened to walk in on a Battle of the Bands night, which I didn’t expect—but honestly, it made the experience. The music was great and the place was buzzing. It was a bit loud if you’re hoping for a quiet meal, but it created a fun, social atmosphere. As a stranger in a local bar, I ended up chatting with people and felt genuinely welcomed. Now, the food. I ordered the French onion soup and the citrus chicken bowl. The soup had a solid base with plenty of onions and bread, and I appreciated the green onions on top, but the broth itself lacked the deep, rich flavor I was hoping for. The parmesan topping also threw me off a bit. The citrus chicken bowl had potential. The coconut rice was a highlight and the lime added a nice touch, but the chicken didn’t taste freshly grilled and felt a bit more like a pre-prepared option. A fresher protein and a little more garnish would really elevate the dish. All in all, I came for the meal but stayed for the experience. The atmosphere, service, and overall energy made this a memorable stop, even if the food didn’t quite hit the mark.

Aisha 4 out of 5 stars★★★★☆I went to Looneys for trivia after a long day and weekend. It was a lot of fun. The questions weren't too bad. Like definitely questions we could answer, the recall is the hardest part ESPECIALLY after having an orange crush. There was about 15 teams that participated and you have to get there early. We ordered a bunch of apps and entrees. I enjoyed my buffalo chicken dip and the fries are gas. It was so good. But I wasn't a fan of my jerk chicken tenders. I ordered an orange crush which was also really good. Service was cool. The girl check on our table constantly to make sure we were good. Honestly my coworkers and I would definitely come back again for happy hour or trivia. It's a vibe.

Nicholas Merriman 4 out of 5 stars★★★★☆If you are hunting for the quintessential College Park experience, Looney’s Pub is the undisputed local anchor. Let is be clear: if you are searching for a sleepy, silent library to sip a pint in, keep walking. Even during the weekdays, this place is barely quiet, maintaining a steady, buzzing energy that sets the stage perfectly for when the weekend crowd inevitably floods in. The layout is built for a great time, giving you the best of both worlds with massive indoor seating and a fantastic outdoor patio area. If you are trying to catch a game, you are covered. They have plenty of TVs plastering the walls, meaning you will not miss a single play no matter what sports you are tracking. Plus, the staff is incredibly friendly, handling the constant chaos with genuine hospitality and impressive speed. But the real insider secret is on the menu. They serve up a legendary French dip that is honestly worth the price of admission alone. The ultimate catch? It is only available during the school year. It vanishes for the summer, but it is absolutely worth waiting for. The second the fall semester kicks off, do yourself a favor and order it immediately. For sports, great vibes, and a sandwich worth scheduling your year around, Looney’s hits the mark.

Alexandra Signorini 5 out of 5 stars★★★★★We visited Looney’s Pub during a two-day trip from New York and ended up eating here twice—once for dinner and again for brunch the next day. The service was phenomenal both times. Kayla took care of us on our first visit and was so friendly and knowledgeable that she convinced us to come back for brunch. We’re glad we did. When we returned, Sam was our server and he was equally fantastic. The food is far from your typical pub fare. Every dish was thoughtfully prepared, cooked perfectly, and full of flavor. The menu feels elevated without being pretentious. The drinks were excellent as well and complemented the food perfectly. What really stood out was the consistency. Great food, great drinks, and outstanding service on both visits. A true 5-star experience from start to finish. We’ll definitely be back the next time we’re in town.
