The College Park Aviation Museum was a great surprise! Even though it's a smaller museum, it's totally packed with info and history about aviation and flight. We learned a ton during our visit and were impressed by how much they fit into the space. What really stood out was how family-friendly it is. Even though the museum isn't huge, there were plenty of hands-on activities and interactive exhibits to keep the kids busy and entertained. The gift shop was another cool part. The prices were super reasonable, which you don't always see at museums. As a bonus, admission was free this year for their 250th anniversary, making it an even better deal. Overall, we had a fantastic time and would totally recommend checking it out if you're into aviation history or looking for a fun and educational trip with the kids.

What a fantastic local treasure. Our family had a wonderful time exploring this museum. It was peaceful and uncrowded, giving the kids plenty of room to check out all the exhibits. The staff went out of their way to be kind to the little ones, even giving them paper airplanes from a basket for the children's section. I had no idea this was the oldest working airport in the world. It is a great little hidden gem with wonderful history.

This is an awesome place for any aviation fan! In the tight suburban areas of College Park, you will find the oldest operational airport in the world. Admission was free when we came in, but I think the normal admission fee was 5 dollars for adults and 2 for children. The museum has a nice gift shop and has a cool experience overall. With model planes, planes to sit in, and how aviation works in general. There is a nice outdoor area where there are places for kids to play, and a balcony where you can chill while watching the view. Overall 10.67/10 Would recommend.

Husband and I went to see our Lakeland neighborhood Restorative Justice exhibit. It was very heartwarming to see family and friends displayed. Very touching see how well thought out this is. A lot of hard work and dedication went into bringing this project to life. Hubby was born and raised in Lakeland and still resides here. We raised 3 children nephews and nieces and grandchildren at our same location for 47 years. This was our family weekend gathering place, where all were welcomed. We've had family reunions, bbirthday gatherings, cookouts almost every weekend. Our home was the place that the neighborhood kids loved to come play games and swing on the swing set. They played kickball, volleyball and sometimes just wanted to chill. Have a hotdog, chips and a cold cup of kool-aid. These were the good old days for sure. We also enjoyed the aviation history and exhibits. This is truly a place to bring your family especially the kiddos to learn about some history ❤️ Everyone is very friendly and helpful. Thank you all for your support. The Lakeland exhibit will there for 1 year.

Must see if you like history, airplanes and traveling. This museum is a hidden gem in Prince George's County Maryland. Tells the story of the Wright Brothers birthing aviation in College Park, MD and how it became official in 1909. There is a Compass Rose, located just outside the facility (not assessible by the public for safety reasons) and the area still functioning as a real airport assisting with fueling jet liners and used by private commercials making it the world's oldest airport. Staff is very friendly and makes themselves available. Love the areas where you could touch items, see what pilots see in the cockpit and even enter airplanes making it very child friendly. But always supervise your children. Has wheelchairs available. Gift shop is reasonable priced. Also, has areas where you can hear stories of those who helped pioneer the world of aviation. Definitely will come again. Plan at least 2 to 4 hours to really see this place. Closed on Mondays. Hours are typically 10 am to 4 pm. They offer tours and take credit card. Museum is a Smithsonian affiliate and also ran by county's Parks and Recreation. Does not have a food court and also no outside food or drink permitted.
